Ciao Italia in Montreal
Because few words evoke more starry eyes and romance than Italy does, Montreal’s equivalent of the Mediterranean country definitely fits the bill in the love department. Be it because of the fantastic cappuccino, the lively expats speaking Italian, the Italian bookstores or the extremely alluring restaurants, Montreal’s Little Italy is as close to Italy as visitors can get on this side of the pond. The bastion of the city’s Italian community since the 19th century offers all the staples one would expect to find in Italy, in the most traditional way: bocce parks, family-run trattorias, church frescos and a plethora of yumgasm-inducing aromas (local favorites include La Cornetteria and Café Via Dante).
