Otherwise known as the Hilo Walk of Fame, stately Banyan Drive is lined by trees planted by celebs and then named for them. Everyone from Babe Ruth to Amelia Earhart has put down roots here. When you’ve had enough arboreal fun, head for Liliuokalani Park off the drive, a beautiful Japanese garden dedicated to Hawaii’s first sugarcane migrant workers. A tranquil reflective space, it’s full of pagodas, lanterns, red bridges over fishponds and a teahouse.
