Trains have been running through the Belgian city of Liege for 175 years now but the city has never seen anything like this new station.
Opened in September 2009, this new station designed by Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava replaced the one built in 1958 that has to have been one of the ugliest train stations that I have seen in my life.
The tracks have also been modernized and can now support high speed trains such as the German ICE and the Thalys. But was it a good investment of 312 million Euro? The jury is still out on that one.
