Liberty Public Market
San Diego’s first food hall is in the city’s former Naval Training Center, a 361-acre site in Point Loma that has been turned into a lively business district with wide green lawns, a waterfront park and historic Spanish Colonial buildings. Food hall vendors serve everything from chicken coconut curry sausages to fresh ahi tuna poke bowls so it’s a good spot to grab a casual lunch or dinner. You can take your food to the patio or sit inside at high bar top tables near the bar. Take time to notice the untouched murals that line the upper walls in the rectangular room. Naval recruits painted them in the 1950s and they depict various naval vessels from a late 18th century sailing ship to a WWII aircraft carrier.
