It's a classic experience, but climbing the lighthouse is definitely worth it. The entrance is cheap and the view from above is stunning. The first time I climbed the lighthouse, I could feel tears prickling at the back of my eyes because until then, I had never realised just how beautiful my city is. The white beach stretching out next to a perfectly blue sea reminded me of pictures I had seen of the Caribbean, and the fresh wind reminded me that I hadn't left home yet. The last time I went up, it was with my cousin. She and her boyfriend spent such a long time taking the perfect picture, that I had to glance down and make sure my aunt and uncle, who were standing at the bottom of the lighthouse, hadn't abandoned us yet.
