History buffs should make a beeline to the Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum, a sprawling fort complex that houses the eclectic private collection of the man for whom it’s named, one of Qatar’s wealthiest citizens. With more than 15,000 exhibits spread out over multiple buildings, a tour of the museum has much to reveal about Qatari heritage and culture. You’ll find everything from fossils to old coins to an impressive assortment of vintage American cars; highlights include an entire historic house transplanted from Damascus and an extensive collection of vintage knives and armor.
