Les Éclaireurs Lighthouse

The distinctive red-and-white lighthouse known as Les Éclaireurs, also called the Lighthouse at the End of the World, is located at the entrance to Ushuaia’s harbor. Put into service in 1920, the remotely controlled structure—which is not open to the public—stands some 10 meters (33 feet) tall and is topped by a light that flashes every 10 seconds and has an impressive range of 7.5 nautical miles (14 kilometers or 8.5 miles).
