Beach Caves and Campfires
Have you ever wanted to camp in walking distance to a secluded beach, rife with wildlife like starfish, crabs and sea anemones? A 45-minute drive out of central LA yields this amazing experience. Leo Carillo has a very well maintained campsite, offering bathrooms, parking spots and firepits for every campground. After a 10 minute walk, you'll find yourself on a gorgeous, and relatively empty beach (it even allows dogs). Explore a little, and you'll come across exotic beach caves to crawl through or hide inside. You'll swear you were deserted on an island with your friends or partner, with the nearest Starbucks being a few miles south.
