Get Half-Price Tickets for a West End ShowIf the theater prices are a little steep for your budget, or you're just wanting to catch a last-minute show, the half-price ticket booth on Leicester Square is a must. As a local, I've used it often to get discounted tickets to shows. Although they call it the "half price" booth, not all discounts are that high. But it generally has a selection of tickets for a wide range of shows, and if you get there in the morning you'll get the best choice for that evening's shows. You can even buy up to three days ahead, and the website is a great place to go for more offers, plus comprehensive information about what's playing.

At the Heart of Leicester Square
Leicester Square is the centre of blockbuster movies in London. It's a little park surrounded by cinemas and movie premiers are usually held here. Even though I had been here countless of times when I was living in London years ago, I never really noticed what was in the centre of the park. When I visited London again recently with my family, we stopped in the square for a rest after some sightseeing and shopping. It was only then that I noticed the statue of Shakespeare. Apparently the statue had been there since the 19th century. And to think I never knew this during the 8 years I was in London! I guess in my younger days I was too busy rushing around trying to catch the latest movies. If you visit Leicester Square, Shakespeare is standing quite high up. Do go and have a closer look. You'll see this famous quote from "Twelfth Night".
