Clos de l’Ours is a dream come true for Fabienne and Michel, who launched a new career as winemakers in 2008 and opened this guest house six years later. It’s also a family affair, run with the help of the couple's two grown children. They’re on hand to set out the breakfast buffet, recommend local places to eat and hike, and offer up samples of the sustainably homegrown vintages. The result is an intimate, low-key place to stay just outside the town of Cotignac. It's a convenient base for a variety of day trips, including Aix-en-Provence, Saint-Tropez, and the Gorges du Verdon. After a long day, guests can look forward to soaking in the pool or settling into an air-conditioned room with a vaulted terracotta ceiling and vineyard views.
