Las Vegas Distillery is Nevada's first legal artisanal distillery since Prohibition. A true story of perseverance, Hungarian immigrant George Racz and his family worked tirelessly to not only create but campaign his distillery into legal existence. Now the handcrafted vodka, gin, rum, whiskey, bourbon, and specials like "Rumskey" and "Grandma's Apple Pie Moonshine" can be found in stores and bars throughout the area. The distillery is dedicated to local sustainability and uses ingredients (corn, rye, wheat, and oats) from Winnemucca Farms in northern Nevada. The doors are always open, but official hour-long tours happen a few times each day (except Sunday) and now, after legislation was officially signed in June 2013, visitors can sample the liquor and bottle their own from the distillery grounds.
