Remember all the cool black and pink clothes Elvis Presley wore in his early rock 'n' roll days? If you need a refresher, just head over to Lansky Brothers, a historic apparel store located at The Peabody Memphis.
Current owner Hal Lansky's father, Bernard, was given the moniker "Clothier to the King" for good reason. In addition to dressing Elvis in all his great 1950s styles, Bernard sold clothes to music icons such as B.B. King, Isaac Hayes, David Porter, Carl Perkins, Johnny Cash, and Jerry Lee Lewis.
The store was once located on Beale Street where it helped set the fashion tone of blues and rock musicians of the '50s. It continues today at Union Avenue where guitars and photos from some of the store's famous musician customers can be found hanging on the walls.
The store is virtually a music fashion museum, but it offers plenty of practical men's clothing items for sale, too.
