If you have more than a week to spend in Peru, a good add-on to your itinerary is a visit to Lake Titicaca. Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world, is beautiful and enormous; part of it lies within Peruvian territory, while the other half is Bolivian. Legend has it that the first Incas, children of the sun, set down on Earth here. A suggested visit would include at least one overnight at the spectacular Titilaka Hotel (http://titilaka.pe) on Isla Suasi (www.islasuasi.pe).
