When I dream of travel destinations, amusement parks seldom make the wish list; however, there is magic to stumble upon. While visiting friends in the Orlando area, I found myself on an adventure between the parks. A wish to try the famous Dole Whip led to a visit to the Polynesian hotel. This then led to a water taxi to the Floridian Hotel to see the life-size Christmas gingerbread house. Next, we visited Fort Wilderness for some western grub, and learned about roasting marshmallows and watching movies by camp light. By chance, we saw the fireworks show from the Magic Kingdom over the water as we left. The day was without lines, without rides, and with less then $20 spent, and yet we all felt a little of some childhood fantasy magic had somehow rubbed off on us.
