One of Da Nang’s most popular tourist sites is the 67-meter-high (220-foot-high) marble statue of the Bodhisattva of Mercy, otherwise known as Lady Buddha. Her generous proportions—she’s 17 meters (56 feet) in diameter and contains 17 floors, each one worshipping a different Buddha—mean that she’s visible from pretty much everywhere in the city. But it’s when you get up close that the monumental sight will take your breath away.
