Rue du Vieux Pont
Take English tea in the French countrysideMy friend Philly took us to this "Salon de The" - a welcome treat for us Brits, as French brands of tea really aren't anything like you get across the Channel. To be honest, just a nice cup of Earl Grey would have made us happy - instead we got the whole deal, homemade scones, with jam and cream, for a bargain price that would make a Devon teashop blush.
English tea may not be the first thing on your list to do in France, but the countryside is a quiet place, and this was a gem - a quirky little venue that could do you a pot of Assam, an ice cream milkshake or a shot of rum, as you felt the need. Just be prepared, when you head to the ladies' loo. There's quite a lot of dolls and crochetwork going on in there. It's a bit creepy.
