La Luce: Northern Italian Cuisine - Queen Anne Style
While the food and wine is great at La Luce, a hidden gem restaurant on west Lake Street in Chicago (in the old meat packing district and under the elevated train), the bonus is the architecture. It is a BEAUTIFUL Queen-Anne Victorian building constructed in 1892. Some features: rustic exterior copper work, the meat locker with original milk glass panels, a wood burning stove, tin ceiling and wine cellar. I've eaten at this 2-story restaurant on multiple occasions and love it. Plus, the owners are sweet.
