La Finísima Caguamería de Esquina
In Mexico, the word caguama refers to a 32-ounce bottle of beer, so caguamería means a place that sells them. This spot’s extravagant name roughly translates to “The Very Fine Big-Beer Bar on the Corner,” but to keep it simple, locals call it “La Caguamería.” Filled with trendy, hipster-inspired design, it sits on a quiet street just a block from 5th Avenue and has a marvelous, lantern-lit terrace. If the name expresses love for Corona and Dos Equis, the mescal menu is in fact quite impressive, as is the selection Caribbean fin-fare like the Marlin Monroe fish tacos or ceviches dressed in a variety of yummy salsas.
