Walk like a star
Today luxury hotels, high-end boutiques and a fine sand beach compete for visitors’ attention as they stroll the famous walk that was once a marshy path. Named the Crouseto in local provençal referring to the pilgrims who once came to Cannes wanting to cross the bay to the Abbey on the Ile des Lérins, this internationally renown stretch of beach, promenade and boulevard is a 3 km long crescent that separates the city from the sea. Watching international film stars cruise the street, sparkling with glamour as they arrive by land, by air and by sea, it is hard to imagine that this was once a remote fishing village.
