Magic in the Trees
One of the most enchanting things about Kyoto is the way the seasons change. From a sea of cherry blossoms in the spring to a riot of color in the fall, the trees of Kyoto make for an especially magical, romantic setting. Stroll along the Philosopher's Path or through Maruyama Park in early April to get the full sakura (cherry blossom) experience and go koyo- (colorful leaf) spotting at Kitano Tenmangu and in the gardens of the Imperial Palace.
