When traveling, I always struggle to find the perfect souvenir: something that is unique to the area, quality craftsmanship, and has a sense of place. This workshop nailed all three requirements. Aizenkobo has been practicing the traditional Japanese indigo dying method for over three generations. Owners Kenichi and Hisako Utsuki showcase products and offer a deep background into the craftsmanship and techniques used to create their products, and are quick to pull out family photo albums to tell the story. Expect to find a beautiful assortment of silk and cotton scarves, dresses, and more.
