Our tour guide brought us to a carpet shop towards the end of our tour. Luckily, it was a very low-pressure environment, and they said they just wanted to share their work. We got to see how the silk is procured, the looms used to weave, and many many finished carpets. I fell in love with one of them, and was incredibly tempted to purchase, but alas, it was not in the stars that day. We hope to go back to Turkey at some point in the future and pick out the perfect authentic Turkish rug for our home.
