Haggle Your Heart out at Kusadasi’s Seaside Bazaar
The famed Istanbul Grand Bazaar is no secret. It’s also no bargain; even the best hagglers can’t get the some of these merchants to budge. And why would they need to when hoards of other tourists are willing to pay extravagant prices for poorly made pashminas and overpriced glass lamps. Instead, head over to Kusadasi, where the market there sells the same sort of wears at a fraction of the price. Hit it up at the end of the season to haggle for the best prices. Don’t be afraid to go too low, these merchants are much more interested in negotiating, and will take the time to put together a package of their wares at a price you’re pleased with.
