One of my favorite things to do in San Francisco is search out the beautiful places that not many tourists would know about. One of those is definitely Kite Hill, hidden in plain sight in the Castro neighborhood of the city. I walked past this park at least five times before I realized how to get into it. And, it took a couple trips to realize how big it was.
During the month of June - Gay Pride - you can get great views of the big pink triangle installed on Twin Peaks from Kite Hill. The triangle is put up in commemoration of gay victims of the Holocaust and the on-going mistreatment and inhumanity against gay people around the world still going on today.
