Nuratu Island

Just offshore of Kitava is the tiny uninhabited sand atoll of Nuratu Island. Not only is this a snorkeler’s paradise with abundant reef and fish life (and white-sand beaches to relax on if you ever get bored of the incredible marine life), but getting here is an adventure in itself. Hop onto one of the outrigger canoes, which serve as a taxi service across the clear-blue water, and enjoy the friendly rivalry between the boats as they race one another across the lagoon. There will be noisy whooping and conch shell fanfares along the five-minute journey.
