Kings Park and Western Australia Botanic Garden

Fraser Ave, Perth WA 6005, Australia

The array of Western Australian flowers, trees and shrubs at this fantastic botanic garden ranges from ancient cycads to the Gija Jumulu boab (a type of baobab tree), a 750-year-old relic that was transplanted from the Kimberley region nearly 2,000 miles north. Plant species are grouped into themed areas; visit the banksia garden between July and October to witness a riot of wildflowers. Aboriginal culture and history left their mark throughout the rest of this large urban park, and thrice-daily tours provide interpretation.
