The vibe in Napier, NZ is an elegant mix of Art Deco and modern comfort. The food covers the international spectrum of flavors and our chance discovery of Kilim was probably more fate than accident. The casual, welcoming feel of the restaurant draws you in, while the aromas from the kitchen beckon you to order the whole menu… Owner/chef Yusuf Dogru has taken the best of Eastern Mediterranean dishes and brought them to this delightful eatery in the heart of Napier. We ordered a variety of items and were impressed at the quality and care going into their creation. The flavors in the Hummus, Tzatziki and Falafels were authentic and well executed. The sourcing of local ingredients was evident throughout; putting a fresh-forward spin on the delightful food. There is no bar, but you’re welcome to BYOB and enjoy it with your meal. Staff are smart and attentive and service is friendly and not rushed. The offerings are pretty extensive for the kitchen space, and if what we had to eat was an indication of the possibilities, whatever you decide for your meal will leave you wanting more.
