India is the opposite. Sometimes it seems like every inch of the country is painted or carved or inlaid with flowers and vines. Centuries’ worth of decorations have spread over every human-made surface.
We spotted this ceiling in an ordinary mom-and-pop restaurant, I think near the Khan Market. I wish I could remember the name of it, but that's the thing: There are so many places like this that it didn't even occur to me to jot the name down.
