One of the best paddling trails in the USA, this 190-mile marked canoe and kayak trail route through some of the most spectacular ecosystems in Southwest Florida. It is enough to make anyone want to pick up a paddle and set forth on an Old-Florida adventure. Canoeists, kayakers, and paddleboarders can launch from over 80 access points for short trips or to make the entire journey. The rewards come in being at eye level with Southwest Florida's incredible nature. Over the course of a few hours along the Great Calusa Blueway, you may see an osprey hook a fish in its claws or hear a dolphin surfacing to breathe. The trail winds through coastal waters, quiet mangroves, and inland tributaries around Estero Bay, Pine Island, the Caloosahatchee River, and Matlacha Pass. You can download trail maps with GPS coordinates to make navigating the trail easy.
