Lake Country Retreat in Canada's version of the Hamptons
Muskoka is kind of like Canada's version of the Hamptons. This lake region is where Canada's elite (and increasingly A-list celebrities from the US) come to their remote summer homes.
It is also home to "The Rosseau” Canada’s first JW Marriott Resort & Spa. You will find a large indoor/outdoor pool complex, a wide range of health and wellness services at the spa, and many large rooms with lake views, and in some cases fireplaces and kitchens. The area is also known for hiking and golf.
Muskoka is about a two and a half hour drive from Toronto, going north along Highway 400. Leave yourself more time on weekends where you can expect heavy traffic with much of Toronto escaping to "lake country".
