Horchata—Oaxacan Style
Try the "horchata con nieve" at Juquila, a local Oaxacan joint. This sweet, rice-based, cinnamon-tinged beverage is served with chunks of red prickly pear cactus (called “tuna,” in Spanish) and orange mango sorbets floating on top. Give it a stir and it turns Pepto-Bismol pink—refreshing and the perfect foil for Juquila’s delicious mole dishes.
