Have you ever wanted to gaze out at the Milky Way in the still of the desert night? If you stay still enough, you can actually tell which way the stars are drifting. It's magical. And most people no longer have opportunity to do this. They can't see the Milky Way in their urban environment due to light pollution, losing that connection to the night sky and nature that those before us had not so long ago. But Joshua Tree National Park is one area in which the light pollution is not too bad. Enjoy the night.
This is Arch Rock, light painted in this night sky long exposure photo.
