During my 4 day visit to Guadalajara, we went to one of Mexico’s Pueblo Magicos Mexico’s Pueblo Magicos, the town of Tequila, where we visited La Rojeña, the oldest distillery in the Americas. During the tour, we saw a big pile of agave plants being loaded into the ovens to be cooked. The various stops through the distillery and barrel stocked aging halls are well choreographed. Our guide was super charming and knowledgeable. Aside from learning the process of making Tequila, the highlight was of course the tasting of blanco, reposado and añejo tequilas at the very end, which was unusual and quite surprising in its approach. I’ll definitely enjoy the flavors and aromas of Tequila a bit more educated in the future. Monday to Sunday: 11:00, 12:00, 13:00, 14:00, 15:00, 16:00, 17:00 hrs.
