Located in a deep rock formation on Signal Hill, the Johnson Geo Centre is a geological interpretative museum that focuses on the geology of Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as the history of the oil and gas industry in the area, geothermal energy, space exploration and the Titanic disaster. The center itself is a compelling lesson in geology, with most of its galleries located underground and surrounded by bedrock. There is also a 3-D theater and gift shop along with a special area for child-friendly exhibits.
