Fort Worth, in Spanish
The thoroughfare North Main connects downtown to North Side, one of the city’s predominant Hispanic neighborhoods, many of whose inhabitants came to Fort Worth to work for the meatpacking companies. Among its Mexican restaurants, Joe T. Garcia’s holds pride of place among many locals and other Texans, both resident and expat. If you are determined to do your own cooking and are looking for a particular ingredient for a Mexican (or Tex-Mex) recipe, you’ll find everything you need—plus piñatas in every conceivable size and shape, from dinos to action figures—further along on North Main at the Carnival and Fiesta supermarkets.
