Jin He Li Fabricate Steel Factory ( Jin He Li Gang Dao )
Taiwanese-administered Kinmen Island just offshore of Xiamen has three main industries: tourism, sorghum liquor, and knives. During the Taiwan Strait Crises of the 1950s, bombshells fired from the mainland rained down on little Kinmen while its residents sought shelter in underground bunkers. Fast-forward several decades, Taiwan and China are now prosperous trading partners, and the metal in those long defunct warheads is being put to creative reuse by a knife craftsman by the name of Master Wu, who contends that his "bombshell" knives are a cut above the rest. Whether or not that's true is up to the customer to decide. Still, Master Wu's knives do have an unique origin story, and visitors to his studio on Kinmen island can see how a bomb becomes a knife. 236 Boyu Road Section 1, Kinmen Island. 金门岛伯玉路236号1段
