Jimmy Boy

Step Back in Time at Jimmy Boy
If you are new to all things India, you may have never even heard of the Parsi community, much less Parsi food. Parisi's are ethnically distinct from Irani's even though they both hail from ancient Persia. Parsi's are an increasingly smaller part of the Mumbai population, but have left a large mark on the city in more ways than one.

You will be hard pressed to find Parsi food outside of Mumbai, so give it a try. Our favorite is the local institution Jimmy Boy located in South Mumbai.

Walking into Jimmy Boy is like stepping back in time. The small non-AC eatery is classically Indian. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming to visitors.

In order to get a good sense of what Parsi food is all about, try a dhansak (veg or non-veg), pulao and fish in a banana leaf (patrani machli). Don’t forget to start with the all time favorite sali par edu (basically hash browns with fried eggs on top). This will be one of the best meals you have in Mumbai!
