A Taste of Bali's Street (and Beach) FoodWhen we headed to Jimbaran Bay for a seafood feast, it was also the first time seeing one of Bali’s street food carts, situated right on the beach and overflowing with roasted corn on the cob.
The moment I saw it I wanted to try my own, but I knew I would soon be deliciously-full from our meal that was about to arrive. Although I didn’t have one at that time, I still enjoyed the scene before us watching the vendor roast his corn, handing them out to people gathering around his cart on the sand, all while the sun was starting to set over the ocean.
Sure enough though, another opportunity came along, this time during a night motorbike ride on the way back from Seminyak to Bingin. Spotting a cart on the side of the road, we stopped and each had our own roasted corn on the cob (also grabbing some roasted peanuts to go, which this particular cart offered too). With the corn roasted right before us, it came out hot, and had a buttery, sweet and spicy flavor. I relished every bite and it was the best corn on the cob I’ve ever had.
Chances are you will also come across one of these street food carts in Bali. If you do, make sure not to pass it up, as the corn is definitely a tasty treat, roadside or beachside.
