Once a training ground for apothecaries and physicians studying herbal medicine, the Botanical Garden is a welcome respite from a long day of sightseeing (or perhaps too much winetasting). Modern and striking, the park has more than 3,000 exotic and regional plant and tree species, including an aquatic garden with water lilies, a vertical plot with creepers and a series of landscapes that duplicate the ecosystems of the Rive Gauche (left bank) and Rive Droite (right bank), wine-growing regions of Bordeaux.
