On An Astronomical Scale
Janta Mantar is a park for the space-and-time inclined. Built in the early 1700s by the Maharaja Singh in Jaipur, this park in the old city has 14 large stone monuments that all serve an astronomical purpose. The huge tools monitor heavenly happenings and are still used today for agricultural predictions. One can walk between the apparatus and imagine scientists of the royal courts plotting and charting impossible distances and paths.
