This fall, I took the plunge in Jacques-Cartier park, just outside of Quebec City. And, it was an absolute hoot! I loved the 5 miles of whitewater rafting where I along with four others crossed four Class 2 rapids while portaging the only Class 3 rapids. I know, I was disappointed about needing to portage too!
The river’s currents, rapids, as well as numerous shallow sections where we ran aground were challenging to say the least. We tried to avoid the rocks, but our raft just wanted to play bumper boats with all of the rocks.
Over the two-hour trip, we got wet. And, that was the point. Who goes whitewater rafting expecting to stay dry? However, we also got awesome views of the valley and the mystical clouds lingering over the river.
Here's to ready, set, and get wet in Jacques-Cartier!
