Jacada Travel Launches the Ultimate Harry Potter-Themed Tour Around the UK
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the publishing of “Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone,” luxury tour operator Jacada Travel is offering an exciting Harry Potter-themed tour around the UK. The itinerary takes Potterphiles on a private, luxury journey from London all the way up to Edinburgh and Glencoe, where several scenes of the film were shot and written. The tour begins with a three-night stay at the elegant Kensington Hotel in London, with a private chauffeur and expert guide to escort travelers around London to discover the city’s connections with the Harry Potter films, including a visit to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour London - The Making of Harry Potter, where the Harry Potter films were filmed.

The tour will proceed to the Cotswolds, one of Britain’s most picturesque regions, where travelers will enjoy two nights in luxury accommodations at the Dormy House Hotel & Spa and will explore the historic university city of Oxford, whose colleges were used to recreate the atmospheric interiors of Hogwarts. The tour will continue on to the historic city of Gloucester, whose cathedral was featured in a few of the films. Guests will enjoy a walking tour around the atmospheric cloisters, feeling as though they are wandering the corridors of Hogwarts. Travelers will then move on to Edinburgh, Scotland, where they will stay at the historic Balmoral Hotel for two nights in the special J.K. Rowling Suite. Since Edinburgh is the city in which the original Harry Potter stories were written, an expert local guide will bring travelers to visit the cafes where Rowling used to write.

The following day will begin with a private drive through the Scottish Highlands towards Glencoe, which was used as a location in a number of the Harry Potter films, for a two-night stay in the Glencoe House, a grand Victorian mansion hotel. Travelers will board the Jacobite Steam Train, which was featured as the Hogwarts Express in each of the films, and journey to the Isle of Skye to witness some of the most magnificent scenery in the UK. On the final day of the tour, guests will stop off at Inveraray on the way to Glasgow International Airport, a picturesque village in the heart of Argyll, to catch a glimpse of the famous Loch Lomond and some of the most incredible views before their departure.

Potterphiles can begin or end the tour with a stay at the five-star Draycott Hotel, a charming spot tucked away in London’s stylish Chelsea neighborhood. This 19th century, Edwardian boutique hotel will transport visitors to a world full of magic and marvel. The Draycott offers guests the quintessential experience of British afternoon tea in the cozy Drawing Room by a roaring fire that is reminiscent of the Gryffindor Common Room fireplace. Conjuring a mysterious feel, curious guests will enjoy venturing through the Draycott’s theatrically themed rooms, from the library, the hotel lounge honesty bar, to the private back garden where children can let their imagination run wild. The Draycott is very family-friendly, so children and adults alike will love spending time in this enchanting British escape.
