Mayan ruins easily explored.
Iximche is the small Mayan site that was once the capital of the Kaqchikel kingdom. The ruins are an easy stop over along the Pan American highway on your way to Lago Atitlan from Antigua. I found it special because I was the only gringo anywhere at the site - which mostly seemed to be a place where local families would gather for picnics and football on a sunday afternoon.
