Authentic Turkiye: "The Bread Man"
Living in Turkiye you definitely get to know "the bread man," as my roommates and I called him. Every morning the "bread man" carries his bread to sell up and down your street, early in the morning, yelling "ETMEK!" the Turkish word for bread. This always woke us up and annoyed us in those early mornings, but now, like everything else from Turkiye, it's one of the sounds I really miss hearing. If you get a chance, have some of the nice fresh bread in Turkiye, especially with Turkish breakfast. If you don't see a bread man, it's ok, just go to a local bread shop. There are so many nice types of bread to choose from.
