Inn at the Roman Forum
Inn at the Roman Forum, a boutique hotel among ancient ruins
This lovely boutique hotel might just have the best location in Rome: It's right across from the entrance to the Roman forum, down the street from the Colosseum... and actually *in* the 2nd-century Trajan's Markets. (When you check in, the receptionist will actually take you to cavernous back rooms that still have original, ancient mosaic and sculpture!). Rooms have a medieval feel with contemporary touches, like flatscreen TVs and iPod players. The real piece-de-resistance, though, is the rooftop terrace, with a gorgeous view of Rome's ruins, the Victor Emanuel monument, and beyond.
