Inle Lake

Cotton Weaving on Inle Lake
What an experience to see these folks at work. We got to see from start to finish how they made scarves, tableclothes and clothes. I loved seeing how they dye the material different colors. Most fascinating was seeing how they use the fibers from the lotus plant to create weaving material. We watched a demonstration and received a small bracelet of the fiber. It is said that this is the only place in the world that uses this natural resource.
