Ale and Independence in Philadelphia
Nowhere has the pop-up beer garden craze been more appreciated than in Philadelphia. Vacant lots and other unexpected places have been transformed into thriving gardens and gathering places. Summer visitors to Philadelphia can choose from over a dozen centrally located outdoor watering holes. One of the best of these seasonal offerings, the Independence Beer Garden is in a prime location just steps from Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell. With a fantastic food and cocktail menu, and dozens of draft beers, this intimately decorated space will charm visitors as they soak in the colonial atmosphere of Independence Square. Fans of a strong English style brew may want to order the Yard’s Thomas Jefferson Ale. The fried pickle chips are a must-try.

Drinking At The Liberty Bell
There is a really cool spot called Independence Beer Garden which is outside right around the block from the Liberty Bell. Its outside with string lights and fire pits. They have picnic tables with games on them. The food was really good as well, we had hummus with pita bread and chips and guac. It was really fun environment. I could imagine it being packed in the summer time. I highly recommend it, especially if you are taking a history tour.
