Illegal Burger
This cramped bar on a downtown backstreet arguably kicked off the burger craze that has swept across the Norwegian capital these last few years. Since then, Illegal has expanded to a much bigger diner in trendy Grünerløkka but thankfully has lost none of its charm. The burgers are not the biggest and are served in paper wrapping encouraging a ‘grab and run’ approach to dining. The charcoal-grilled burgers are all cooked to order and are great value compared to the competition, although the potatoes – somewhere between fries and wedges - are on the pricey side. Aioli is served as standard, so make sure to ask for ketchup if that’s your preference.
