Ile aux Cerfs
Île aux Cerfs, Mauritius
Parasailing at Ile aux Cerfs, MauritiusI'm a huge chicken when it comes to "adventure" sports yet somehow I married a Kiwi - thrill-seeking runs through his veins. On our honeymoon, the new husband wouldn't stop pestering me to try Parasailing as he figured it would be a 'soft' introduction to something a bit more exciting. I knew it looked like a lot of fun but I was so scared.
I think I had some mild shakes as I was strapped in and I had no idea what I was doing, but the sensation of lifting up into the air from the pontoon was something else - all of a sudden the entire Mauritius came into view and I was flying above it all, watching all the action from an angle I'd never experienced before. My husband was right behind me hugging me tight, pointing out different things to look at, reassuring me and making sure I was having a good time. And I was; it was one of the best experiences of my life. I was safe, with my husband, sharing a moment and an experience just with him. It was thrilling, beautiful, and even a little romantic.
Parasaling is now something I'd do again and again without a second thought and I'd recommend Ile aux Cerfs as the ideal location to anyone.
