A gastronomic Holy Grail?
‘The Holy Grail’ offers an innovative take on the local cuisine in a stylish, low-lit brick-vaulted room. While he has his culinary feet planted firmly in his native Tuscany, young chef Simone Cipriani (definitely one to watch) is not afraid of experimenting and you’ll find plenty of unusual flavor-combinations on the menu. After the delicate, fishy appetizer shown in the photo, I recently had a risotto with spicy sausage cut with zingy orange followed by a contemporary version of roast chicken which was fantastic: a brick-shaped combination of soft, juicy meat wrapped in crispy skin. The dessert of peanut praline was a perfect finishing flourish.
